tranquillum
there is something deeply restorative about being in or near water
This was the first piece created in the collection, and one of my favorites. The range of blues and teals spoke to me of lagoons, lakes, and bodies of water. Sometimes calm, sometimes energetic, full of layers and magic.
Blue-green is a special color all on its own - not the green of plants, and not the true blue of sky or water - a color that signifies something (or somewhere) special.
In all my paintings, you’ll see final marks made with charcoals, pastels, and even scratches made directly in the wet paint. Every other painting in this collection has a touch of neon except this one. Can you find the touch of silver instead? What’s your favorite detail?
tranquillum: Latin: “quiet”, “calm”
