True blue

I try to live in black and white, but I'm so blue

Once I explored blue-green in Tranquillum, I knew I wanted to include a true blue exploration in this collection. Here on Earth, we are surrounded by variations of blue - in our skies, in our water. The depth and layering we see affects the type of blue we see - and I love the rich ultramarine as well as the softer touches of delicate layers and the deepest indigo.

Note: Out of all the paintings in this collection, this is the only piece where true white was used! Any other light layers you see in the other 7 paintings are off-white.

In all my paintings, you’ll see final marks made with charcoals, pastels, and even scratches made directly in the wet paint. What’s your favorite detail element?
