Classic Cars

earlier in march, my photog friend christina rustled up something new to take pictures of: train engines. unfortunately, after following directions exactly as posted, we were stumped. we found train tracks aplenty… but not a hint of this mysterious train museum. naturally we were a little bummed and turned around to head back into chandler. we stopped by downtown to snap some photos of water features and test out some different methods of shooting. we also noticed that there just happened to be a classic Jaguar car show across the street. Cha ching.

Something i’d like to learn more about is photographing automobiles. It’s absolutely challenging for me, but rewarding when you get a great shot. we wandered around and saw some amazing machinery – cars from 1935 still running and in phenomenal condition, classic race cars (fins, racing stripes and all), and of course the very sexy coupes.

once we finished snapping these shots, we noticed that the car owners were packing up and heading out. we promptly set ourselves up on the curb and practiced some motion-blur shots as the cars filed out. this is way tougher than i thought it would be. i definitely think this is something i want to try again – anyone want to volunteer to drive circles in front of me?

still don't know what this is. any help?

my favorite from this set.
