Catching the Light
Any photographer anywhere will talk about "finding the light" or trying to get just the right time of day (or equipment to use) to shoot in gorgeous light.
I prefer to shoot in natural light, meaning I don't carry around a bunch of flashes or strobes. (One day I hope to learn more about those techniques, because WOW! there is some artistry there!) I'm often searching for the best possible light in the mornings or evenings.
A few mornings ago, my kiddo wandered out onto the porch to play around with a stick or something (seriously). Our apartment is right across from another building, with light-colored bricks that were reflecting back the early morning sun in JUST the right way. I'm sure I looked like a crazy person - my eyes got big, I dropped what I was doing, and (pregnant lady) raced inside to grab my camera.
I encouraged James to just keep playing and doing his thing - I just wanted to capture his beautiful face in that beautiful light.
I think I was pretty successful - don't you?
